Is It Time For BP Sentral?...

At the time this blogpost was being typed... the state of Johor only have 2 public land transport terminals as "Sentral", namely Larkin Sentral and JB Sentral.

As the second largest city in the state of Johor after Johor Bahru... in the opinion of the author of this blog... Batu Pahat have the potential for the existence of a "sentral" public land transport terminal or upgrade the existing public land transport terminal in Batu Pahat (Penggaram) to a "sentral" public land transport terminal named "BP Sentral".

The sentral meaning here is not only as a larger and more modern public land transport terminal but also the number of public land transport routes such as buses are enhanced and amplified.

The proposed "BP Sentral" can boost the local economy, encourage the use of public transport among the residents of Batu Pahat district.

May this matter become a reality in the future.

BP Rapid Bus Service... Is It Right Now?...

At the time this blogpost was being typed... Rapid bus service is only available in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. These bus services are known as "Rapid KL" and "Rapid Penang".

The special thing about this bus service is because this bus service is disabled persons friendly because it makes it easier for those in wheelchairs to get on this bus. In addition... passengers can also pay in cashless by using Touch & Go card and Touch & Go eWallet.

At the time this blogpost was being typed... there were rumors that the government wanted to bring this bus service to Johor Bahru which would be known as "Rapid JB" but there were no rumors to bring this bus service to Batu Pahat which could be known as "Rapid BP".

If you ask the author of this blog... is it suitable for this bus service to exist in Batu Pahat district now?... it depends on the bus route. In the opinion of the author of this blog.. Ayer Hitam - Parit Raja - Sri Gading - Batu Pahat (Penggaram) route can be said to be a suitable route due to population and economic factors while other routes seem to be quite weak to create this "Rapid" bus route because for example the Benut - Rengit - Senggarang - Batu Pahat (Penggaram) bus route operated by the "Coastal" bus service does not seem to be very profitable as it is very rare for this bus service to be fully loaded with passengers.

Anyway... the author of this blog hopes this thing can become real one day in the future.

Batu Pahat BRT Project... Should This Project Start Now?...

At the time this blogpost was being typed... Iskandar Malaysia area is in full swing in planning to establish a BRT line in the cosmopolitan area.

However... it is not that the author of this blog does not agree with the plan... the plan is actually good only in the opinion of the author of this blog... Iskandar Malaysia area should already have its own LRT network system other than BRT while Batu Pahat district can already have BRT network system.

Going back to the title of this blogpost... is it suitable for this BRT project to start now... if seen in terms of the population of the district... the author of the blog views... why not? but also seen in terms of the uncertain economic situation of the country when this blogpost is being typed... it is quite difficult from blog authors views.

Anyway... the author of this blog hopes that one day... this thing can become real in the future.

Batu Pahat HSR Station... What Is The Effect On Batu Pahat & Its Citizens?...

At the time this blogpost was being typed... there were rumors stating that the Malaysian and Singaporean governments wanted to reopen the door to negotiate to resume high-speed rail (HSR) projects connecting Kuala Lumpur - Singapore through several stations.

Among the HSR stop stations is Batu Pahat station which is likely to be located in the Sri Gading area.

The existence of HSR in several countries such as Japan, South Korea, China and France has proven that the existence of HSR do play an important role in influencing the economic impact on the country because it can connect the population in large and small urban areas economically and socially.

There are several countries that are interested in building this HSR line such as India and Indonesia in their countries. Therefore... Malaysia should not be left behind in the current economic development.

If this HSR project can impact economic development to the country... imagine what the impact will be on a district and the people of Batu Pahat in general.

One of the economic effects that can hit Batu Pahat district when the HSR project and stop station in Sri Gading is completed and started operating... there will be a sharp population growth as a result of the large migration of outsiders to this district to settle in this district but working in big cities like Kuala Lumpur and Singapore as the cost of living in this district is still much lower than in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Because of that... it is not impossible that the urbanization process of Batu Pahat district can be accelerated towards the rating of the city and even it is not impossible to achieve a metropolitan rating with a population of 1 million people.

Anyway... the author of this blog hopes this thing will become real one day in the future.

Tanjung Labuh Airport?...

Once upon a time... Batu Pahat district had an airfield located in the Tanjung Labuh area. However, the function of this airfield is not the same as the airfiled in the interior of East Malaysia (Sabah / Sarawak) and resort islands in peninsular Malaysia such as Pangkor & Tioman that carry commercial passengers with fokker aircraft as usual.

The Tanjung Labuh airfield used to serve as a departure and landing field for private planes that are smaller than fokker aircraft. Now... this Tanjung Labuh airfield has been taken over by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) for the purpose of training for aviation studies offered by the university.

However... the idea of a commercial passenger plane and domestic air cargo for Tanjung Labuh can still be seen as something that has the potential to be implemented one day in the future as Johor's economic growth is constantly increasing from time to time and the northern and western areas of Johor also shows relatively satisfactory economic growth.

Furthermore... Johor is the second largest economic state in Malaysia after the state of Selangor. Therefore... it is not unusual for the state of Johor to have two airports for commercial passenger aircraft and domestic air cargo because the state of Selangor itself technically has two airports operating, namely Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Sepang and Subang Skypark.

Senai International Airport can still serve as an international flight hub for the south west coast of peninsular Malaysia while the idea of the existence of Tanjung Labuh airport can serve as a Malaysian domestic flight hub for the northern and western parts of Johor that connects flights from airports. available in Malaysia (except Batu Berendam Melaka airport due to the flight distance is too short and not worth it in terms of financial costs).

I hope one day in the future... this thing can become something real.

Minyak Beku Port...

In the Batu Pahat district... there is a small "barter-trade" port located in the Minyak Beku area.

This port is not big as other ports in Malaysia such as Port Klang, Pasir Gudang Port, Tanjung Pelepas Port, Penang Port, Lumut Port, Kuantan Port, Kuching Port & Kota Kinabalu Port.

However... this small port can be considered important because it is one of the reasons to drive the domestic economy in the Batu Pahat district and the northern part of Johor in general.

The author of this blog hopes that this port can be enlarged and equipped with modern features like other ports in Malaysia so that the economy in the northern part of Johor can be further developed.

I hope one day in the future... this thing can become real.
